James Towlson is a multi-instrumental songwriter and producer living in Billerica, MA. 

At the age of 4 he started playing piano. At 12, his rock and roll father provided him with his first guitar. In 1999 he began studying voice and songwriting at Berklee College of Music, where he graduated in 2003. 

After receiving a B.A. of Music he continued a career in music writing, recording, performing, touring, and teaching music at The Real School of Music. His band Party Bois was the winner of the 2019 Boston Music Awards “Best Dance and Electronic band” and has won past awards with The Campaign for Real-Time. 

In December of 2017 James received a Hatch Merit Award for "Office Tragedy", a project he worked on with Gratitude Sound.

James is currently the GM at The Real School of Music and has continued his own working and on various projects for SqueakEClean, Gratitude Sound, and BMG.
